The Way of Cain

Genesis 4:3 And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

Cain brought to God his own way, with his own works, as an offering to God. And that's the sad deception of false-religion. It tells you to work in order to earn righteousness through self effort.

Dead religion is ok with you believing IN God, but it doesn't want you to simply believe God. Cain believed IN God, but he didn't believe God. As a result, he brought the fruit of the ground, which was a bloodless sacrifice.

You can't get blood out of fruits and vegetables. The bible says: without shedding of blood is no remission.

The fruit of the tree was Adam and Eve's problem. The fruit of the ground was their son Cain's problem.

I'm sure Cain was very proud of all the hard work it took him to plant, water, nurture, and pick the fruit of the ground, which he grew.

The Lord will not accept the fruit of the vine as an offering for sin. He will turn down the works and way of your hands, just as He turned down the works and way of Cain.
