Should Christians Celebrate Christmas? (part 1)
You will not find one verse in the Bible where God tells His people, either through command or principle, to celebrate his birthday.
The Bible does clearly tell us that Christ was born of a virgin in: Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
It's one thing for a true born-again Christian to believe, preach and teach this verse to be 100%, wholeheartedly true. It's an entirely different matter to use this verse as a reason to celebrate Christmas, as the birth of Christ.
The word Christmas is easily broken down as follows: Christ-mas...or...Christ's Mass...or...the Mass of Christ
As a former Roman Catholic, I used to attend the 'Mass of Christ' every Sunday. Keep in mind, no Catholic gets up on Sunday morning and says to their family: "It's time to go to church!" Instead, they say: "It's time to go to MASS!"
Every Roman Catholic Church has a Sunday MASS, a daily MASS, MASS hymns, and MASSES for Holy Days of Obligation. Additionally, Catholic weddings and funerals are considered MASSES.
Each MASS has 4 parts:
- The Introductory Rite
- The Liturgy of the Word
- The Liturgy of the Eucharist
- The Concluding Rite
The introductory rite and the liturgy of the Word all lead up to the blasphemous practice of the liturgy of the Eucharist.
This is where the climax of the mass is centered around. This Eucharistic sacrifice is called the "Holy Sacrifice of the Mass". However, there is NOTHING Holy about it.
Catholics have been taught to believe that the only difference between the Mass and Calvary's cross is that the manner of offering has been changed from bloody to un-bloody.
They are taught that the Mass is NOT just a ritual of remembrance, but that the priest can bring down Jesus from heaven and turn the wafer and wine into the literal body and blood of Jesus. This is absolutely blasphemous!!
When the Catholic Church celebrates the Eucharist, they truly believe that Jesus is literally present in the water and wine. They believe they receive God's graces through participating in this.
During this part of the mass, the pagan priest will hold up the Eucharistic wafer and say these blasphemous words to you: "THE BODY OF CHRIST! This a lie from the pits of hell!
But, in the false Roman Catholic view, you cannot get to heaven without ingesting this unholy sacrifice of the Eucharist. Roman Catholic priests are continually offering up sacrifices through the Eucharist.
Please note: You will never go to a Catholic mass where the sacrifice of the Eucharist is NOT celebrated. The 2 are directly connected. Catholics do NOT believe the words of Jesus when he said in John 19, ...it is finished. They are continually celebrating the mass. As a matter of fact, if a Roman Catholic was on their deathbed, the priest would show up with a 'Eucharistic wafer' so the dying catholic could receive God's graces. Not only is this a shame, but this doctrine of devils, is damning souls to hell through a false gospel and false hope.
The word "Mass" is derived from the Latin word "missa", which means to be sent. "Missa" comes from the word "missio", which means mission. The last part of the MASS, called the concluding rite, is meant to send Catholics out on their mission. Their mission is to bring the Eucharist to the world and the world to the Eucharist. This false-doctrine is being taught to millions of Catholics around the world.
The other thing that is directly connected to the mass are graven images.
In the Old Testament, here's what God warned the nation of Israel to NOT do:
Exodus 20:4-5 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Deuteronomy 4:23 Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.
Sadly, Catholics ignore this verse because they have been taught that the Eucharist is NOT an image, but God himself.
The Eucharistic wafer is placed inside a sun-bursted golden vessel, called a Monstrance. This is another image that is worshiped.
The word monstrance, means to "to show". The purpose of the Catholic Monstrance during the mass is "to show Christ".
The Monstrance is a golden image of the sun, with a false Christ, (the unholy Eucharist) placed inside. Millions of Catholics are taught to worship, adore and bow down to this graven, sun image.
God showed Ezekiel the greatest of abominations in a vision:
Ezekiel 8:16 (KJV) And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.
Sadly, on top of some Christ-mass trees you'll find the golden, sun image used as a tree topper. The deception of pagan sun-worship is something God continually has to warn his people about.
In 1946, here's what the Encyclopedia Americana says:
CHRISTMAS, the 'Mass of Christ'... In the 5th century the Western Church ordered it to be celebrated forever on the day of the old Roman feast of the Birth of Sol (the Sun)... Among the German and Celtic tribes, the Winter Solstice was considered an important point of the year, and they held their chief festival of Yule 1 to commemorate the return of the burning-wheel (the sun)."
In closing, I'd like to ask you this question: Is Christmas really about a biblical command or principle to celebrate the birth of the Son of God, or is it a carefully crafted deception to worship the sun-god?
As for me, I am a born-again Christian. I do not celebrate the mass anymore. I'm not interested in Sunday mass, the daily mass, or the Christ-mass. The Bible says:
Hebrews 7:25-27 (KJV) Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
I have a clear command to celebrate and remember Christ's death, NOT His birth.
1 Corinthians 11:25-26 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come.
