Christianity isn't a Karaoke bar

Christianity isn't a Karaoke bar

Life is about showing up as the person God wants you to be.

Be you!
This is how you'll be used for His glory.

The mistake too many Christians make is that they lose their identity in someone else. It's not wise to mimic or copy a favorite preacher or Christian writer.

Christianity isn't a karaoke bar. The goal is to give your best rendition someone else and their song. The goal in Christianity is to become more Christ-like. We can't accomplish that if we lose our identity in someone else. Me must seek God's will for our life, and learn to sing our own song. This doesn't at all mean we should become isolated, lone-ranger Christians.

It's vitally important for all of us to:

  • Learn from others.
  • Get counsel from others.
  • Have a pastor to sit under and learn truth from.
  • Read and listen to pastors and Christian writers.
  • Have Christian friends who can help and advise you.
  • Be involved with learning and having fellowship with your local church family.

All of this adds bench-strength to the team!

However, weakness and insecurity is when someone loses their identity in someone else.

God doesn't want you to show up, impersonating your favorite Christian. God want you to show up as you. Trust God, to mold you into who He wants you to be.

Ephesians 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
