Christ became a Shame for Us
Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Christ endured the shame of being publically hung on a cross. They spit on Him and mocked Him. They put a crown of thorns on His head. His hands, feet and sides were pierced. His bled and died on Calvary's tree for the sins of the world.
As a result of the shame Christ endured, there was great joy that came out of the glorious cross-work. The Bible says that: "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree."
Christ became a curse and shame for YOU!
Now, those redeemed of the Lord can boldly stand up and proclaim:
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth;
Christ became a public shame, yet most Christians are ashamed to publically stand and proclaim Christ.
If you're a born-again Christian, I hope and pray that you are not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. If you're not, find a way to proclaim Him TODAY!
