A prayer to heal land?

Many well-meaning Christians use 2 Chronicles 7:14, as a proof text, to pray that God would heal the land of the USA.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

The main problem is that "my people" is a clear reference to God's chosen, Jewish people.

Here are 2 more obvious problems that arise from cherry-picking this verse out of context.

• The Lord spoke these words to Solomon, who was a King of Israel.
  The US has a president, not an Old Testament, Jewish King.
• Solomon, the King of Israel, was told to observe the commands and statues given to the nation of Israel. No New Testament Christian has ever been told by God to follow Old Testament Jewish laws or commands.

The Christian must understand...

• The United States is NOT Israel.
• The United States isn't spoken about anywhere in Bible prophesy.
• Praying all day for God to heal the land of the USA, is a wasted prayer.

Why?

• Because God never told Christians to pray for LAND to be restored. He told them to pray that SOULS would be restored. Christians should be praying for soul regeneration, not land regeneration.

The land being referred to in 2 Chronicles 7:14 is Israel's land.

Currently, Israel has been set aside for a time. Right now, God is not in the business of healing national land. Instead, He set up His church, and is in the business of healing individual souls.

One day, God will heal Israel's national land, just as He has promised. The Lord will do this when he sets up his millennial kingdom on earth, at His 2nd coming.

Only the Nation of Israel was promised land by God. When God restores that nation, He will completely heal and restore their land.

In the meantime, the church is commanded by God to pray for individual souls. As individual souls repent and believe the gospel, the United States undergoes a healing. But this healing has nothing to do with land, or the takeover of the land by a different political party. This healing is 100% spiritual in nature.

If you want the United States to be healed spiritually, then get busy taking a public stand for the gospel of Jesus Christ by witnessing to as many lost souls as you can, in as many different places that you can.

The glorious gospel of Christ is STILL the answer!
