Why Do Giants Keep Appearing in the Bible?

Why Do Giants Keep Appearing in the Bible?

The Question That Changes Everything

Have you ever wondered why giants keep showing up throughout the Bible? From before Noah's flood to David's famous battle with Goliath, these mysterious beings appear again and again. But there's a disturbing pattern most people miss - and it reveals a truth that will shake your understanding of Scripture.

The Deadly Cycle

Here's what the Bible reveals: Every time giants appear, the same pattern follows:

  1. Fallen angels mingle with human women
  2. Giant offspring are born
  3. God sends destruction
  4. The cycle repeats

This isn't coincidence. It's divine judgment against an unholy corruption of humanity itself.

Genesis 6: Where Evil Began

"And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose... There were giants in the earth in those days." - Genesis 6:1-2,4

The "sons of God" weren't just ungodly men - they were fallen angels creating a hybrid race that God had to destroy in Noah's flood.

But here's the shocking truth: it didn't end with the flood.

The Little 'g' gods

Psalm 82 reveals there are other gods (little 'g' gods) operating on earth:

"God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods... But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes." - Psalm 82:1,7

Notice that key phrase: "ye shall die like men." When these fallen beings create offspring with human women, their giant children don't get eternal bodies - they die and are annihilated forever.

Isaiah's Shocking Revelation

Isaiah 26:14 confirms what happens to these giant offspring:

"They are dead, they shall not live; they are deceased, they shall not rise." - Isaiah 26:14

While all humans will stand before God in judgment, these corrupted beings face complete annihilation. They will never rise again.

David's Victory Reveals God's Pattern

When David faced Goliath, everyone else had their eyes on the giant. But David had his eyes on the living God. Notice these interesting details about Goliath:

  • 6 cubits and a span tall
  • 6 pieces of armor
  • his spear's head weighed 600 shekels of iron

That's 6-6-6. Coincidence? You decide.

But here's the real point: David used a stone to defeat the giant. Keep that in mind as we look at prophecy.

The Prophetic Stone Kingdom

In Daniel 2, we see Christ's coming kingdom described as a stone kingdom that will destroy all earthly kingdoms:

"Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold" - Daniel 2:45

Just like David's stone defeated Goliath, Christ will return as the Stone to crush the final kingdom of giants.

The Final Mingling

Daniel 2:43 reveals the last kingdom before Christ returns:

"And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another" - Daniel 2:43

"They shall mingle themselves with the seed of men." The ruling kings right before Christ's return will be offspring of fallen angels - giants preparing a kingdom for Satan himself.

God's Command: Total Destruction

Throughout Scripture, God's response to giants and their culture is always the same: complete destruction.

"But thus shall ye deal with them; ye shall destroy their altars, and break down their images, and cut down their groves, and burn their graven images with fire." - Deuteronomy 7:5

God wanted it all destroyed - not preserved, not studied, completely eliminated.

The Victory Is Sure

Here's the encouragement: Every single time giants appear in the Bible, God destroys them. They never win. They never establish a lasting kingdom.

Just like Caleb declared: "If so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said." (Joshua 14:12)

Keep Your Eyes on God, Not the Giants

The lesson is crystal clear: When everyone else had their eyes on the giants and were afraid, the victorious ones - Noah, Joshua, Caleb, David - had their eyes on the living God.

Don't focus on the giants. Focus on God. He's the One who gives victory. He's the One who will establish His kingdom forever.

The Stone Kingdom is coming, and every giant will be crushed beneath it.
