What's the draw?
Many so-called "church leaders" have changed the discussion into what THEY can do to DRAW people into their churches.
Their "brilliant" ideas have included the following:
💡 build an expansive playground
💡 host a helicopter egg drop
💡 offer free daycare
💡 use "Christian" sports leagues as the draw
💡 build a coffee bar and food café
💡 bring in Santa Claus
💡 offer all the latest "Youth Programs", so moms and dads can get a break from their kids.
💡 bring in a "Praise & Worship" team, so the kiddies can "rock out for Jesus"
These church leaders then salve their consciences by telling themselves and their followers that we'll use these "new methods" to get them in, so we can tell them about Jesus.
However, I'm not convinced they are hearing about the real Jesus of the Holy Bible. I'm convinced they are hearing about the "fun gospel" that preaches the "entertainment Jesus" with the message of "COME as you are", which in the original Greek means: "STAY as you are" ...lol.
None of the above ideas can come to fruition until a church first gets rid of that old King James Bible! So, of course, they'll need to dress up the language a bit, so it doesn't sound like getting rid of the KJV is a bad thing. They'll do this by offering a weekend seminar's or YouTube video series on "How to Move Your Congregation Off the KVJ".
You see, they must get rid of THE BOOK first, before they can start getting rid of the conservative music and dress standards.
As they get bolder, they start painting the conservative, Bible Believing church as old, legalistic and unable to relate to the culture.
These modern day blind guides have deceived many. As a result, both the pastors and people are confused. This confusion makes it hard for true spiritual growth.
I say it's high time we get back to the old paths.
The prophet Jeremiah said:
Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
The only "draw" the church should have is the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and the proclamation of His word.
His method is so much better than man's methods.
Christ is ALL. Magnify HIS name and allow HIM to be the draw.
John 12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
