Verbal inspiration
The term VERBAL INSPIRATION involves the belief that every word found in the Bible are the very words of God, and are given to us by God.
Verbal inspiration also repudiates the false belief that the Bible is just a general idea of God's message, that allows us to learn some concepts about God.
Verbal inspiration ultimately means we can trust that what the Bible says is from God.
1 Corinthians 2:12-13 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
Notice, that we have RECEIVED something, so that WE MIGHT KNOW something.
What we received were WORDS, that are NOT from man, but from the HOLY GHOST!
The prophet Jeremiah said:
Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
God's word will not pass away!
Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
