Time for a commercial break
Thirty minute television shows will usually break for commercials about every 8 minutes.
Only if the show you're watching is worth it to you, will you stick around, and continue watching, after the commercials have finished.
Only if you value the "characters" on the show, and "care" about what happens to them next, will you return the following week, to watch the next episode.
In like manner, most churches in America, have 3 "commercial breaks" during the week.
The first one comes after the Sunday School hour, which precedes the Sunday morning service.
The second one comes after the Sunday morning service, and precedes the evening service.
The third one comes after the evening service, and precedes the midweek service.
Not counting required work days, sickness, an emergency, or vacation, Christians will only return between the "commercial break" if the preaching is worth listening to.
The lesson is: preaching shouldn't be boring! If something's boring, dry, or has no real biblical substance, God's people aren't coming back.
The other lesson is: if you value the other "characters" at the local-church, and if you "care" about what happens next in their life, you'll return to the next service to be there to help encourage them, pray for them, sing with them, and fellowship with them.
