The World Wants You Hungry. You Don't Have to Be.
An empty plate can be a picture of contentment — choosing peace over the world's endless appetite.

Don't eat if you're not hungry.

That's not just good dieting advice. It works in about every endeavor a man signs up for in this life.

The world would love for you to stay hungry on its behalf — hungry for its noise, its approval, its next thing to chase. But that's not an invitation you're required to accept. You can set the fork down.

Paul wrote that from a jail cell, with nothing guaranteed to him. He said, "I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content" (Philippians 4:11). He wasn't content because he had plenty. He was content because he'd stopped needing plenty.

A believer walking close with the Lord doesn't have to eat every meal the world puts in front of him. He can look at the table, look at his own soul, and say no.

There's a peace in that. A man who has learned to be content doesn't need the world to keep feeding him. He's already been fed.
