The word is a sword

The Word of God is likened to a SWORD.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The word will cut us, because it knows our motives. It is designed to cut away our wrong and harmful intentions because a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

The word reveals our proud obedience, as false humility.

The word is sharper than any two-edged sword for a purpose - to humble us!

We need the word to cut little by little, so we don't ruin ourselves.
