The word is a mirror

The Word of God is likened to a mirror.

James 1:22-24 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was.

By putting our faces in front of a glass, we can see our reflection. Our reflection mirrors who we are.

Our carnal nature is shameful, so our flesh wants to hide this part of us. So, the word of God steps in, as a reflective glass, to uncovers our sin, for the purpose of conforming us to be more Christ like.

Without the word of God as a truth mirror, we'll easily fall into the trap of being hearers of the word only, and not doers of the word.

If we all wake up in the morning and look into a mirror, let's be certain it's the mirror of the word of God. It will really help our daily walk.
