The word as a fire

The Old Testament prophet, Jeremiah, likened the word of God as a fire.

Jeremiah 23:29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD;

The word is designed to conform us unto holiness. Therefore, the dross in our life must be removed. The word of God serves a purifier, destroying all that is false.

It will purge sin from our life. It will purify our hearts and teach us what we should eliminate that is not Christ like.

Dig in the word of God today. You may find an area of your life needs some purifying.
