It's wise to filter everything you that you read or listen to, through the truth of God's word.

Anything we choose to believe in the present, or have believed in the past, should also be filtered through the truth of God's word.

If we fail to do this, we'll end up putting our confidence and trust in our reasoning, and our personal traditions, rather than the word of God.

God's word is the ultimate fact-checker. The question is: will you submit to the word of God, putting you in check?
