The Holy Spirit's Presence

The Holy Spirit's Presence

No Christian would walk into the most luxurious mansion in town and start tearing it down. Because no true Christian would want to face the consequences of that action or risk ruining their reputation. Yet, many Christians, often think nothing of allowing sin into their own lives. The very sin which will ends up tearing their life apart and ruining their testimony. Saved people have something infinitely more valuable than the most luxurious mansion - the indwelling Holy Spirit.

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 6:19

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

The riches man in town would never choose to live in a poor, dilapidated, single-wide trailer. Yet, the King of Glory, the God who is rich in mercy, takes up residence inside the hearts of His children. Praise God, as former sinners, we were made clean by His grace.

It's good to pause and:

  • Honor His humility - Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: (Phil 2:6-7)
  • Admire His worthiness - Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created. (Rev 4:11)
  • Glory in His power - Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, (Eph 3:20)

Sinners, who were once filthy, can now be made clean by His righteousness. This miraculous transformation is a testament to God's power and love. The Bible says:

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Where the Holy Spirit dwells, there is:

  • Comfort - But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26)
  • Peace - Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)
  • Joy - These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full. (John 15:11)

Praise God for His indwelling presence! Let us never take for granted the incredible value of being indwelt by the Holy Spirit. May we always strive to honor the One who has chosen to give us a new heart, a new life, with new desires.

1 Peter 1:15-16 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
