The Door Locks From the Inside

Some folks won't let the preacher tell them anything, won't let the church say a word, and won't even let the Bible have the final say. Push past the argument, and what's really going on is simple: they've made themselves the final authority over their own life.

That's not liberty. It's a cell with the door locked from the inside.

A child who can't take correction stops growing. So does a grown man. So does a church member convinced he already knows better than the Book he claims to believe.

God has expectations for His children, and He always has. Growing up in Him means letting Him say so.

"Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish." — Proverbs 12:1
