The Deception of Deceit
The tongue can utter a lot of deceptive damage. Job 27:4 says: My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.
The tongue is also good at framing deceit. Psalm 50:19 says: Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.
The Bible also warns of deceptive mouths in the book of Psalms.
Psalms 10:7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud:
Psalm 36:3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit:
Additionally, many people can be confused, manipulated and wronged by deceitful counsel. Proverbs 12:5 says: The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
Experience in the Christian life will also reveal to you that there are those who are deceitful, false witnesses. To discern this, we must allow time for people to show their true colors. When the truthful SHOW FORTH what's right, these are the people you can trust. When you find them, keep them close to you.
Proverbs 12:17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.
