Thankful for Fleas

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing GIVE THANKS: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

If you want to know the will of God for your life, you just read it: GIVE THANKS!

This should be the "life verse" for every American Christian because thankfulness has become a lost art.

Consider Corrie ten Boom when she was imprisoned at the Ravensbruck Concentration Camp that was infested with fleas.

Imprisoned, Corrie said to her sister Betsie: "There's no way even God can make me thankful for fleas."

Betsie replied to her by saying: "The Bible says: In everything, gives thanks. It doesn't say: in every pleasant circumstance, give thanks!"

Betsie went on to tell Corrie that the fleas were part of the circumstance where God has placed us.

As a result of the fleas, Corrie and Betsie were able to hold bible studies every night and share the gospel with the other prisoners without the guards bothering them.

And it was all because of the fleas!
