Stop Performing for God
If you're saved, stop trying to earn something you already have.
If you're saved - you're already forgiven. Already justified by faith. Already sealed unto the day of redemption. Already His child. Already have a home in heaven.
It's impossible for you to make God love you more by increasing your morning prayer time or your family altar time. Christ loved you enough to die for your sins and even if you missed church last Sunday, that didn't decrease the Lord's affection toward you.
The performance life of comparing and measuring will always cause you to collapse into bed each night, trying to figure out if you did "enough" to stay in stay forgiven, justified, sealed and redeemed.
My friend, that is not the Christian life. That is dead religion!
I hope you read your bible because you want to know God better, not because you're trying to prove yourself to Him. Serve God because you're grateful, not because you feel guilty about missing church last Sunday. If you mess up, go to the Lord in prayer because you're secure in His love, and not scared of Him rejecting you.
The Christian life is about fellowshipping with God and yielding to the Holy Spirit's guidance. It's not about earning something you already have.
Have you received Christ as your Saviour? If so, then obedience shouldn't be a burden. It should be a real joy because we know God loves us.
Stop performing. Start abiding.
1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
