Pick up your sword and fight
The preacher is to pick up his sword and show up for battle to fight the good fight.
He is to quickly and powerfully cut-to-the chase and get to the heart of the matter.
The preacher is to watch, guard and pray with his sword in his hand. He is never to replace his sword with another weapon, as another weapon will NEVER work.
He is to use his sword to cut deep into the very thoughts and strongly felt convictions on a matter.
The preacher must remember, he is placed on earth and prepared by God to do one thing: FIGHT with the sword! He is not to fight with stories, 3-points and a poem, funny jokes, or TED-talks.
He is to take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, and go to battle.
The fight is real, and this side of heaven, the battle never ends for the preacher.
The preacher dare not place his sword down. For as soon as he does, he will have lost the battle, God has called him to fight.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
