Nobody on the Ballot Can Save You
Today is Election Day.
Both sides will tell you God is on theirs. Both will take a verse out of its context to prove it, and wrest the Scriptures unto their own destruction. Plenty on one side wear the name of the Lord and live like He isn’t watching, and plenty on the other do the same. No candidate has the power to forgive a sin, and no party is the church.
But somebody is going to govern this nation, and the Bible never says that doesn’t matter. “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” What we vote for is what our children will live under.
So when neither side lives right, I’ll still choose the one that stands closest to what God wrote on every heart. The Bible calls it “the work of the law written in their hearts.” Most of us call it common sense.
An unborn child is a child. A mother and father raise their children, not the state, and God made us male and female. A border ought to mean something, and a government can’t spend what it doesn’t have. A preacher ought to be free to say what the Book says.
The Word taught me those first, and I’ll carry them into the booth.
“Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” So pray first, then go vote.
