No Perfect People Allowed!

No Perfect People Allowed!

Have you seen church's like this?

Their Facebook ads will say something like the following:

No Perfect People Allowed!

Some see church as a place for squeaky-clean people without a past...

Elevate Church is different!
No perfect people allowed.

Jesus came for the people who needed forgiveness and love the most.

That’s what you’ll find at Elevate Church.

We’d love to see you this Sunday.
But don’t forget…No perfect people allowed.

Ad breakdown:

"No perfect people allowed."

Many people have been deceived by this statement.

It can be both true and false based on what the writer's motive is.

Of course, no perfect people are allowed because no one is perfect. Everyone would agree with this.

However, what this phrase really means is that...

  1. We'll never preach the Bible with conviction about sin.
  2. We'll never challenge you to change.
  3. We'll never, ever, tell you that what you're doing, and how you're living, is wrong.
  4. Wrong is a bad word, sin is a dirty word. We'll never mention it, because we don't judge people.

"Jesus came for the people who needed forgiveness and love the most."

Yes, Jesus does love the world. (see John 3:16 and Romans 5:8)

However, Jesus came specifically for the following 2 reasons:

To save lost people.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

To save sinners.
1 Timothy 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.

"That’s what you’ll find at Elevate Church."

Remember, you can also replace the word "Elevate" with another word like:

  • Hope Church
  • Journey Church
  • Life Church
  • Catalyst Church

...or you can just take the word Church out all together and just call it:

  • The Flowing River
  • True North
  • The Well
  • The Creek

The most important thing here, is to NEVER, under any circumstances, include the words:

  • Bible
  • Baptist (or any denominational identification, for that matter)

This is all done by design because these types of churches DO NOT what to identify what they believe by stating a denomination. They aren't interested in building a church based on beliefs and doctrines. They are interested in building a church based around YOU and YOUR felt needs.

All of this is dangerously WRONG!
