Momma, I'm Dirty!
When a rough 'n tumble little boy is outside playing in the mud all day, there's a good chance he is not going to want to be washed by momma.
Momma will tell the little boy: "It's time to come in and get washed up!" The boy will likely respond back with his plea to continue to play.
There comes a point where momma might need to hold the boy up in front of a mirror, so he can see for himself just how dirty he is.
If momma is blessed enough that day, her little boy will say: "Momma, I'm dirty! Will you wash me?"
It's much the same with sinful man. He plays out in the dirty world his whole life. It's about time someone holds him up to the mirror of God's holy law.
It will be a blessed day if that man says: "Lord, I'm dirty! Will you wash me"
Psalm 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Romans 7:7 ...I had not known sin, but by the law.
