Life in Christ is a Present Gift

Read through the following verses from the Book of John and meditate upon the glorious fact, that eternal life from Christ is a PRESENT gift of the saints of God.

John 3:15-16 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  • HAVE - 1st person singular possession

John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:

  • HATH - 3rd person singular possession

John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

  • IN HIM - present state of what's inside the believer

John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life,

  • HATH - 3rd person singular possession

John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

  • Christ has given His life, as a result eternal life is presently available to the world.

John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life:

  • HAVE - 1st person singular possession

John 6:47 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

  • HATH - 3rd person singular possession

John 10:10 I am come that they might have life,

  • HAVE - 1st person singular possession

John 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life;

  • Christ has delivered the gift of eternal life. It's presently residing in those who've believed.

John 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.

  • NEVER - not at any past, present and future time will the believer ever die. Praise God!

John 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting:

  • IS - present, indicative sense.
    Indicative is a statement of fact as written, without any doubt

John 17:2 ...that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

  • GIVE - Presently, bestowed upon the believer

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

  • HAVE - 1st person singular possession
