Kathryn Krick Is Not Your Mama

Real spiritual mothering fits at a kitchen table. It never needed a stage, a security line, or an offering plate to keep the crowd back.

I watched footage this week of Kathryn Krick's meetings with a women weeping and whispering "Hi, mama," like a child begging for approval. Bodies were thrown to the floor while the whole room claps and calls it revival. And through all of it, the money kept moving forward.

Scripture already told us what a spiritual mother looks like. The aged women... teachers of good things; that they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children (Titus 2:3-4). That happens among people who know your name, your marriage, your children. Not from a woman on a platform who profits from your tears and never has to answer for your life.

The church was never told to go find a mama. It was told to find pastors, deacons and elders who watch for our souls, under a Shepherd who already knows our name.

If something in your spirit stirred watching Kathryn Krick footage, and it was not admiration but discomfort, do not talk yourself out of it. Believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God (1 John 4:1). Test everything you see against what is written. Every time, no exceptions.

Guard your family from substitutes for the local church. There is no replacement for real relationship and real shepherding. Go find it among a body of believers who actually know you by name.
