Jiminy Cricket theology
Jiminy Cricket, the cartoon character created by Disney, preaches to children: "let your conscience be your guide."
However, the Bible has an entirely different message concerning someone's conscience.
Titus 1:15 Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
The unbelieving mind and conscience of what Disney promotes is not pure. They push an "American Dream" philosophy, along with a false "feel good" theology.
This is evidenced by Jiminy Cricket's most famous quote to children: "When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are, anything your heart desires will come to you."
The Bible is completely against wishing upon stars, and having anything your heart desires. Notice what THE BIBLE says about your heart's desires:
Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
If you desire to be a better a Christian parent, why not Google the following phrases:
- patch the pirate
- dan and louie bible stories
- torchlighters voice of the martyrs
ALL of the above are 200% better for your child's heart, mind and conscience than Jiminy Cricket's Disney theology.
Christian's are NOT to walk hand-in-hand with the worldliness of the devil's crowed. We are to walk with God, and live our lives in holiness unto the Lord.
Finally, remember what THE BIBLE says:
Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
