In darkness vs On darkness

John 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The light didn't shine ON darkness, it shined IN darkness, with the divine purpose of overcoming darkness.

It's WHY the Bible says in John 1:14 -

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,

It's also WHY John 12:46 says -

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me
should not abide in darkness.

The center of darkness is the human heart. But praise God for his powerful light that can penetrate and regenerate the dark hearts of lost men and women.

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
