I cannot see...

I cannot see...

People would say to Fanny Crosby that it was a great pity that God didn’t give her sight when he showered her with so many other gifts.

Fanny would remark by saying:

"Do you know that if at birth I had been able to make one petition, it would have been that I would be born blind. Because when I get to heaven, the first face that shall ever gladden my sight would be that of my Savior."

At 8 years old, Fanny wrote this poem:

Oh, what a happy soul I am; although I cannot see!
I am resolved that in this world; Contented I will be.
How many blessings I enjoy; That other people don't,
To weep and sigh because I'm blind; I cannot, and I won't!

I'm gonna' guess that Fanny got a hold of one of the shortest verses in the Bible: 1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice evermore.

How 'bout you!
