His Plan for our Life
Getting hung up on past regrets, does us no good.
We can regret what we did, what we said, or how we acted in the past; but it's best to repent of it and move on. The spirit of true repentance means we turn from what we did, not get hung up on it.
2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
The other issue to consider it getting anxious about the future. This spirit of fear, gives the Christian no benefit either.
Beating yourself up over future plans, is just as unhealthy as dwelling on past regrets.
Matthew 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
With that said, it is healthy to plan, to improve, to think through and to count the costs.
Remember, if we have trusted the Lord to take care of our past regrets, we should equally trust Him to see us through our future plans. After all, "our plan", should ultimately be "His plan" for our life.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
