God Has No Use For A Whole Man

You want God to use you? Then get ready to be broke down first.

Not broke. Broke down. There's a difference. Broke is what happens to your bank account. Broke down is what happens to your pride when God gets ahold of a man He means to use.

I've watched men chase a platform, a bigger name, a louder pulpit, while dodging the one thing that would actually qualify them for any of it. Humility. Not false-humility that's performed on a stage or acted out in front of church folks. The kind that shows up when somebody tells you something true about yourself that you didn't want to hear.

That's the test, brethren. Not how you handle praise. How you handle correction.

Proverbs 12:1 says, "Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish." A man who can't take a hard truth without getting his feelings hurt isn't humble. He's just real good at hiding his pride behind a smile.

God doesn't build His work on a man's strength. He builds it on the leftover rubble of a man's self-sufficiency. Look at Peter, cursing and denying and weeping bitterly before he ever preached Pentecost. Look at Paul, struck blind on a road before he ever wrote an epistle. Broken first. Used after.

If a truth stung you this week and you wanted to argue instead of listen, that's not a moment to defend yourself. That's a moment to kneel. It's the mercy of God working you loose from yourself.

A vessel has to be empty before it can be filled. Quit protecting your pride and let Him break what needs breaking.
