First Blood

First Blood

Sinful man needs something provided for him, by God Himself. God, who is full of mercy and grace, has been providing sinners the proper provision since the garden.

In Genesis 3, the provision God makes for sinners were coats of skins.

Genesis 3:21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

Adam was not the one who shed 1st blood, God was! It was the blood of an innocent lamb, slain in the garden, from which the coats of skins were provided.

Adam and Eve didn't provide themselves with anything. They didn't provide the sacrifice, they didn't kill the sacrifice, and they didn't dress themselves. God was the one who provided and clothed them with coats of skins. First blood was shed by God!

Mankind cannot grow its own coat like other mammals can. So, apart from the coats of skin made by God - man stands naked!

In the garden, God stripped Adam and Eve of their dirty coat of self-righteousness and provided for them the right coat.

The greatest need of all sinners is for God to provide for them an acceptable sacrifice, for an acceptable covering, that would put them in an acceptable condition. God did just that in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, shed His blood as the sacrificial lamb on Calvary's tree for the sins of the world.

The provision has been made for you through the perfect, sinless, spotless Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. He's the man, Christ Jesus! Behold the lamb and be clothed in His righteousness today!

He shed first blood for you!
