Finding Peace in God's Creation: Stillness by the Waters of His Glory

Finding Peace in God's Creation: Stillness by the Waters of His Glory
Sunset paddleboarding on still waters reflects God's perfect peace and divine creation, reminding us to pause and find restoration in His presence as described in Psalm 23:2-3.

When life gets busy, and it surely will, consider taking time to get out in the midst of God's creation to reflect and meditate upon His glory. The peacefulness of His still waters serves as a great reminder of who's most important – Our Creator!

The psalmist David wrote, "He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul." (Psalm 23:2-3)

Just as these still waters reflect both the sky and mountain, our lives should mirror the magnificent splendor of our Creator. We must recognize the difference between stillness and busyness. We must be willing to surrender to stillness, and schedule out time for quiet communion with God. His glory is not just revealed within the breathtaking canvas of His creation, but also within our own hearts through "the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost." (John 14:26)

The Lord's sovereign hand can calm the seas and form the mountains, "by the word of His power." The stillness and peace that settles over the waters is but a glimpse of the perfect peace He offers to those who find rest in His presence.

Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Learn to be still. Learn to seek your own still waters. It may be out in nature, or it may be in a quiet corner in your home. Either way, remember that the Lord desires to lead you there, to calm your spirit and renew your strength for whatever path lies ahead in your faith walk with Him.

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God:
