Do you want to? Or do you WANT...to want to?
Christians are God's servants who are at work, for God's glory! And many Christians would testify that they want to serve the Lord!
But, what some of them really mean is that they WANT...to want to serve the Lord. In other words, they desire to have the desire.
It's not necessarily a bad place to be. But, we should at least be honest with ourselves concerning this difference.
Because if you truly want to serve the Lord; your prayer may be something like: "Lord, show me where you would have me serve you best?"
But, if you're honestly at the spot in your Christian walk where you just WANT...to WANT to serve the Lord; your prayer should probably be something like: "Lord, help me desire to want to serve you?"
Finally, there may be some Christians who WANT to have the WANT...to want to serve the Lord.
This Christian desires...to want to have the desire...to want to serve God!
This type of Christian may be totally backslidden. Or their life may be so full of distractions, that their prayer should be something like: "Lord, please give me the desire, to want to have a desire, to serve you!"
So, which one are you:
- Do you want to serve the Lord?
- Do you want, to want to serve the Lord?
- Do you want, to have the want...to want to serve the Lord?
Figure out where you're at, so you can start the process of getting busy for the Lord!
