Do we need another want?
We don't need much, but we tend to want a lot.
Most of us typically won't settle for what we need, we tend to strive to get what we want.
The thing is: after we get what we want, for some reason, there is always something else that we want. Pretty soon, we can be on a path of always chasing the next "widget of want".
Big companies have marketing departments whose job is to get us to want the new "widget" they are selling. In order to do this, they have to convince us that what we currently have, isn't worth having anymore.
It's why we own cars, and not horse and wagons anymore.
It's why we own cars with air-conditioning, and why rolling down the car window when it's too hot, isn't an option anymore.
It's why we own cars with heated seats, because sitting in a cold sit...we'll, it's just too COLD!
I'm not asking any of us to go back to the old-west days of transportation when it was horse and wagon.
I am asking for us to consider making a commitment to wanting what we have.
1 Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
