Change the way you look at change

Change the way you look at change

If you're used to always turning right at the same stop sign year after year, and then one day you decide to turn left: that's OK!

Turning left doesn't mean you've done anything wrong.
Turning left means you made a new decision, not a bad decision.
Turning left allows you to explore some new territory and see some things you haven't seen before.

You see, change isn't wrong. As a matter of fact, change has gotten a bad rap!

When something changes, people have been trained to ask questions like:

  • "What's wrong?"
  • "Is this really a good thing?"

But the reality is: change is just a part of life. It helps us move forward.

Without change, none of us would be able to grow in grace. It would be a pretty boring life, if everything had to stay the same.

Seasons change.
Emotions change.
People change.

These are good things, because change is ok. And I'm submitting to you that we should change the way we look at change.

When change occurs, it might be a better idea to ask questions like:

  • "What can I learn through this change?"
  • "What's the exciting adventure this change will bring me?"

By the way, Pilgrim Baptist has officially changed its location.

We are now located at 170 4th Ave. Cookeville, TN 38506.

Same gospel, same King James Bible, same love for souls. But what has changed is where the saints of God will meet for corporate worship.

Maybe you need a change in your life. If so, come on by and see us.
