Can You Bribe God? The Answer Will Terrify You

Can You Bribe God? The Answer Will Terrify You

Someday you're going to die. This is a fact of life. And when you stand before God, that fat bank account, that church title, that influencer status? Worthless.

The Judge Who Can't Be Bought

Romans 2:11 drops this bomb: "For there is no respect of persons with God."

Let that sink in. The CEO and the janitor. The mega-church pastor and the new believer. The millionaire and the homeless man. All standing on exactly the same ground before God.

You know why? Because Deuteronomy 10:17 makes it crystal clear that God "regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward."

Translation: God can't be bribed.

Your Religious Resume Is Toilet Paper

Think you're special because you're in church every Sunday? Because you tithe? Because you're a deacon, pastor, or Sunday school teacher?

Paul says in Galatians 2:6: "But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man's person)"

The large sums of money you dropped in the offering? God owns the cattle on a thousand hills.

The position you hold? God doesn't care.

Your perfect church attendance record? Meaningless.

The Brutal Truth About Death

2 Samuel 14:14 paints this picture: We're "as water spilt on the ground, which cannot be gathered up again."

Once you flatline, that's it. No do-overs. No appeals. No second chances. You're either facing the resurrection of life or the resurrection of damnation. Period.

And here's what should terrify every religious person reading this: Your good deeds won't tip the scales.

The Only Currency God Accepts

Romans 10:12-13 offers the only hope: "For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

Whosoever = the drunk. The prostitute. The prisoner. The self-righteous church member who thinks they've earned God's favor.

The ground is level at the foot of the cross. You come empty-handed or you don't come at all.

Stop Lying to Yourself

If you sit in a pew, every Sunday thinking you're earning points with God, you're wrong. If you compare yourself to "worse" sinners, thinking you're safe with God, think again.

God does not owe you anything.

Romans 3:23 says: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God."

Not some. ALL!

Your Move

Right now, you're either trying to bribe an unbribable Judge, or you're ready to drop the act and admit you're bankrupt.

The criminal on the cross next to Jesus had nothing to offer except belief. Hours from death. No time for good works. No religious credentials. Just "Lord, remember me."

And Jesus said, "Today shalt thou be with me in paradise."

That's it. That's the gospel. That's your only shot.

Your position won't save you. Your money won't save you. Your religion won't save you.

Only Jesus saves.

And if that makes you angry instead of grateful, you're still trying to bribe God.
