Can God Save Homosexuals?
The Lie That's Spreading Through Some Churches
There's a dangerous doctrine infiltrating some churches today. It claims that homosexuals cannot be saved – that they're beyond God's reach.
This is a lie.
And I can prove it from Scripture.
What Romans 1 Actually Says
People love to quote Romans 1:28: "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient."
But here's what they miss – nowhere in Romans 1 does it say these people cannot be saved. Not once.
Look at the progression:
- Verse 24: "God gave them up to uncleanness"
- Verse 26: "God gave them up unto vile affections"
- Verse 28: "God gave them over to a reprobate mind"
Did you catch what's missing? It never says, "God gave them up to eternal damnation with no hope of salvation."
God gives people what they want. You reject Him? You get what you asked for – a mind without God. But that doesn't mean the door to salvation is closed.
The Truth That Changes Everything
Here's the bottom line from Romans 10:13: "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Whosoever.
That includes the homosexual. The adulterer. The liar. The murderer. The self-righteous church member. Everyone.
We're All in the Same Boat - The Sin Boat
When you sharing the gospel don't act superior because you've not committed the exact sins of the person you're witnessing to. Instead, ask them:
"Have you ever told a lie?"
Everyone has, and that puts you in the same boat as them: the sin boat. Because one lie separates you from God just as much as any other sin.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
The Dangerous Misuse of Leviticus
Some churches point to Leviticus 20:13 saying homosexuals should be put to death today. But look at that same chapter:
- Verse 9: Death for cursing parents
- Verse 10: Death for adultery
If we applied Old Testament law today, half the population would be executed. We're not under that law anymore. We're under grace.
The Message That Matters
People are great sinners, but we have a Great Savior.
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners – not the righteous, not the "good enough," but sinners. The worst of the worst. Those who've gone so far they think they can never come back.
If someone would get on their knees and cry, "God, I deserve hell!" – that person is ready for grace. That person is ready to hear the gospel.
No politician can fix what's wrong with this world. Only Jesus can transform a heart. Only Jesus can take someone with a reprobate mind and make them new.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new" (2 Corinthians 5:17).
The Answer Is Yes
Can God save homosexuals? Absolutely yes.
The same gospel that saves the liar saves the homosexual. The same blood that cleanses the thief cleanses the sexually immoral. The same grace that reaches you reaches them.
Don't let anyone tell you differently.
