Calvinism - they know not at what they stumble.
A misunderstanding about the doctrine of election has caused many Christians to fall into error, believing that God pre-determined and decreed some to heaven and others to hell, before the foundation of the world.
Acts 17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Why would God command a non-elect man, who was pre-determined to hell, to repent, if he is unable to repent.
As a matter of fact: If the eternal decree described by the philosophy of Calvinism is true, why would God have to command anyone to do anything.
Jesus said...
- the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
- …except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Why would Jesus be commanding people to do something, that they can’t do.
God would never command someone to do something, without giving them the ability to do what He has commanded.
Concerning Calvinism: they know not at what they stumble. (Proverbs 4:19)
