Borrowed Light
The moon has no light of its own.
That light is borrowed. All of it. The moon's only job is to reflect the sun. That's it.
God gave Israel a lunar calendar on purpose. Every new moon was a reminder. You are not the source. You are a reflection. The feasts, the months, the worship — all of it pointed to the Messiah.
The Law, the sacrifices, the prophets — God gave them everything they needed.
And then they put the Light of the world on a cross.
The nation went dark.
The church has the same problem. Reflect Christ. Not build platforms. Not make a name for yourself.
Not dress the Gospel up for the culture.
Just reflect.
The goal isn't your glory.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. — Matthew 5:16
The church doesn't get credit for light it didn't produce.
The moon doesn't shine to get credit. It just turns toward the sun.
That's the assignment.
