Be Still
Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God:
It's easy to create a sense of commotion by filling a church house with enough people that make enough noise. If there's enough noise, and if the music is loud enough, the sensory overload will sell THE EXPERIENCE to the people!
However, in Mark 4:39 Jesus said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Seems, to me, that the experience of "calm" and "still" has been lost in all the noise of modern-day charismatic confusion. The race to fill the building has cost us the unity that is found in the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
To know God more, and to love God, is going to require more unity around stillness and calmness, and less desire for an experience of commotion.
Psalm 133:1 Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
