Asbury Revival: Where's the Fruit?

Asbury Revival: Where's the Fruit?

Long-lasting fruit, not a short term fleshly experience, is the evidence that reveals whether something is a revival of God.

Short term, we can all experience a revival of emotions and experiences through various events in our life. However, long term fruit is what the Holy Spirit produces.

If the Asbury Revival was truly a move of God, I would suspect, that most students on the campus of Asbury University would NOT be actively living in sin during this semester.

The following are some practical examples of how the Holy Spirit works in Christian students' life after a Holy Spirit revival take place.

Asbury University guys and gals who are dating, now clearly understand that the Holy Spirit didn't revive your heart, so you could hug, kiss, and fornicate. Instead, because you want to maintain holiness unto the Lord, you now see the benefit of waiting to enjoy intimate relations until you are married. You welcome having a friend chaperone you on dates, to keep your testimony above reproach. Hebrews 13:4 now has a fresh conviction about it...

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

Asbury University guys and gals who are actively supporting or participating in the LGBTQ lifestyle, would repent. Because the Holy Spirit guides you into all truth and because you've just experienced revival, you now clearly understand that sodomy, a queer lifestyle, and terms like gender dysphoria are all works of the devil. You are now committed to witnessing and to Biblically rebuking those who think that type of lifestyle is from God.

Asbury University students who have been listening to Hillsong, Bethel, Elevation and Jesus Culture music, now have the blinders lifted from their eyes, because the Holy Spirit revealed to them the UN-holy spirit that is behind that type of music and the leaders of it. You now sing unto the Lord, a NEW SONG!

Because the Holy Spirit has so revived the students at Asbury University, I'd expect the dress code to change. The young ladies are now so moved by God's Holy Spirit that they realize they've been deceived when they adopted the dress standards of Hollywood, the music industry and carnal Christians.

Most of the young ladies are now happy to dress as feminine as possible and understand that God has a distinction in dress between men and women.

They used to call people legalists who would encourage gender distinction in dress. Now that the Holy Spirit revived their hearts, they clearly understand that what they wear, does matter. They're mature enough to know that what they wear doesn't matter for eternity, and that it has absolutely nothing at all to do with their salvation. Instead, they know it matters for testimony's sake and modesty's sake.

Finally, the most important evidence of a Holy Spirit revival would be an evangelistic outreach like we've never seen before.

The entire community surrounding Asbury University should now expect to see gospel witnesses preaching open-air on various street corners. Every person within 10 miles of Asbury University should expect to receive a gospel tract or end up in a personal conversation with one of the students from Asbury about their need for Jesus Christ as their Saviour.

True revival, ALWAYS produces FRUIT!

So, if the music doesn't change, if the evangelistic efforts don't change, if the dress code doesn't change, and if the way relationships are viewed doesn't change, then WHAT exactly was revived?

In other words: where's the fruit?

Matthew 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
