Asbury Revival: Where's the Holy Spirit?

Asbury University's school history shows that in 1905, 1908, 1921, 1950, 1970, 2006, and 2023 Holy Ghost revivals broke out in February. In 1958 and 1992 Holy Ghost revivals broke out in March.

Does the Holy Spirit only show up in February and March at Asbury University

I'm asking this because I'm genuinely concerned about what is being promoted as a great move of the Holy Spirit.

Will the Holy Spirit being moving upon college students at conservative Christian Universities like Pensacola Christian College, Crown College, Heartland Baptist Bible College, or West Coast Baptist College, or will the Holy Spirit only be making an appearance at Colleges that host CCM concerts and are of the charismatic flavor of Christianity?

Is the Holy Spirit leading when female preachers are in direct rebellion of 1 Timothy 2:12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence?

I think not!

We need to be real careful of giving the Holy Spirit credit for things the Holy Spirit said were WRONG!

The Holy Spirit was NOT leading the New Apostolic Reformation bunch that was trying so hard to align themselves with the Asbury Revival with their false deliverance gospel.

Praise the Lord, that the Asbury University staff made it public that they did NOT endorse or invite anyone from the NAR crowd.

The ultimate concern is this:

Has the Holy Spirit been redefined as the "new shiny object" for college students who are hungering for authentic faith! When sadly, "authentic faith" results in a CCM concert with dancing, crying, emotionalism and very shallow doctrine. All of that may be authentic, but it's not Biblical.

Watch what happens in the Bible when the Holy Spirit shows up in Acts 2:2 ...

And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

In the book of Acts they were NOT dancing, jumping, screaming, shouting, or crying...they were SITTING!

We MUST "try the spirits" to confirm if the spirit is actually the Holy One!

In the book of Acts 3,000 souls were saved without the use of social media. If the Holy Spirit is truly moving, do we need social media to promote it?

If the Holy Spirit is drawing people, do we need the TikTok hashtag #asburyrevival to bring 20,000 people to the university?

It's important to understand that the 70 million views on TikTok from #asburyrevival does NOT in any way reflect that amount of souls being saved.

If this revival was led by the Holy Spirit, you would not have needed Asbury University staff to make an announcement that classes are cancelled and head over to the chapel. Additionally, if the Holy Spirit was truly moving, why would you stop it, by officially ending the chapel service.

Seems to me there was a LOT of prompting, leading and persuading through human effort, rather than the Holy Spirit.

Remember, just because something goes viral, that doesn't mean it's a Holy Spirit led revival.

With all that said, we must recognize the FACT that the Holy Spirit resides in each and every born-again, child of God. Every believer can be used by the Holy Spirit in mighty ways.

The Holy Spirit quickens the sinner, imparts the new birth, draws, testifies of Jesus Christ, guides into truth, shews the things of Christ, reproves, secures our justification, produces sanctification, and places us into the body of Christ.

Praise God for the Holy Spirit!

1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
