Arm Yourself with Truthfulness
Christians should strive to always tell the whole truth, exactly as the whole truth should be told.
Have you ever told an untruth about somebody just to get a laugh or poke fun?
Have you ever told a story a little different, just to protect yourself against personal shame?
Have you ever talked about a fictional character as if they were real?
Have you ever omitted certain facts or details about a situation, so you look like the hero?
If you've answered yes to any of the above 4 questions, you're guilty of lying; and it's time to repent and arm yourself with TRUTHFULNESS!
You can do that by committing to telling the exact truth…always!
At all times, under all circumstances, tell the exact truth: no matter what comes up, even if it seems to injure you or cost you something!
For example: If you have an opportunity to sell something, sell it at a fair price, even if you could get more because of naïve buyers.
If you must confess personal wrong: TELL THE TRUTH!
If it causes you to lose friends: TELL THE TRUTH!
It always pays to tell the truth.
Having the stamp of truthfulness, is a priceless character trait. Below are just some of its benefits:
· you'll live life with a pure conscience
· other people will know they can depend on you
· your word will mean something
· it will safeguard you against temptation
· it will keep you out of trouble
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
