Are you exercising your gift or building a fence?
Some people find it easy to see the problems of others.
Some even get good at offering advice that will fix other people's problems.
If this is truly someone exercising the gift of "helps", it can be a great blessing.
However, sometimes seeing the problems of others is a way to avoid looking at one's self.
We should be better and seeing our own problems, and be willing to fix ourselves FIRST.
To make it worse, people will often build "fences" around themselves so no one see's the real problems or trouble we're having. This makes it even harder for a solution to be realized.
This is how Christian's "get stuck".
To "get unstuck" we most humbly allow someone to confront us with the following question: "Are you exercising your gift, or building a fence?"
Matthew 7:4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
