A Captive Audience Doesn't Stay

A Captive Audience Doesn't Stay

The moment a congregation starts to feel like a captive audience, they start making other plans.

It might take a while, but they always find the door. The first sign is when they start warning their friends away.

Treat the flock like the free moral agents God made them to be, and most of them stay — and bring others with them.

Before you reach for guilt or man-made rules to keep folks in their seats, count the cost. It's a short-term fix with a long-term price.

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." — John 8:36
