3 Reasons Why Truth is Resisted

If you stand for truth, expect to have enemies. Below are 3 reasons why men and women resist truth.

Reason #1: The truth brings light.
Light exposes people for who they really are. People hate to be exposed.

John 3:19-20 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

Reason #2: The truth declares you should not live in sin.
People love their sin, and don't want anyone taking it away from them.

Romans 6:1-2 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Reason #3: The truth is resisted by a prideful person.
It is said that the root of all sin is pride.

Proverbs 29:23 A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

1 Peter 5:5 ...God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

Ironically enough, the only thing that will make someone free is the truth! So keep preaching it, keep living it, and eventually a sinner will be humbled and ready to receive God's grace.

John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
